In 2016, the Prince Georges County Public Health Department published the Community Health Needs Assessment Report which included several recommendations.
In line with these recommendations, the Pi Upsilon Lambda (PUL) Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha in conjunction with the Alpha Phi Alpha Pi Upsilon Lambda Charitable Foundation are hosting a Men's Health Forum to promote education, outreach, and resources tailored for Boys and Men of Color.
The goals of the Forum are to:
- Promote knowledge and awareness regarding health and mental health
- Provide access to healthcare, public health, and mental health providers
- Provide a supportive environment to talk about health and wellness
- Prompt action related to health behavior and mental health
